An informational flyer promoting a community app called Cheers. The flyer features illustrations of clinking glasses, an artist's palette, a woman with her head resting on her hand, and a house. The text discusses the app's purpose to build a genuine community, the outdated venue for socialization, the dangers of using alcohol as a social lubricant, and encourages finding, meeting, and connecting with people through curated events and activities.

Social Proof

Real Connections, Real Success

When I was looking for book clubs to join in my area, they all seemed to be centered around wine or breweries, so with the help of the Cheers model, I launched this no-alcohol book club. I’m not actually “sober,” but it’s extremely rare that I do drink.
The demand for the Left on Read book club was massive, we had to turn people down in order to keep the bookclub at our agreed capacity. This is proof that a growing number of people are embracing intentional times of sobriety and want to find a community that shares their values. The model works, members pay their dues and consistently show up with enthusiasm and it has been a wonderful experience to build relationships with people from all walks of life who share the same desire; to connect authentically.

The Story of Left on Read MPLS

Before the Cheers app, there was a simple idea: creating space for genuine connection. Left on Read MPLS was our test launch—an alcohol-free book club built on the principles of intentional, activity-based socializing. It was started with a simple belief: people are hungry for more than just a bar scene.

How It Started: The book club was entirely manual and host-led, testing demand without any app technology. We asked one key question: Would people pay and show up consistently for a high-quality, clear-headed community?

How It's Going: The response was immediate and overwhelming. The events quickly sold out, proving that the market for alcohol-free connection is massive. This successful blueprint became the proof we needed to confidently build the Cheers platform.
